Second Harvest Food Bank announces the appointment of Andy Irick as the organization’s new executive director, effective Thursday, July 13.
In this role, he will be responsible for an annual budget of approximately $12,000,000 and direct a team of over 30 full- and part-time Food Bank employees.

As executive director, Irick will lead the development and implementation of long and short-range strategic objectives, operating business plans, policies, budgets, and programs that impact over 50,000 unduplicated individuals per year.

“His leadership skills, extensive executive experience, and strong community connections make him the ideal choice to lead our organization and advance our mission of alleviating hunger in Champaign, Clark and Logan Counties.”
Irick expressed his enthusiasm for his new role.

“I am honored to join Second Harvest Food Bank and work alongside the dedicated team in our collective efforts to combat hunger and make a positive impact on our community. I look forward to leveraging my experience and passion to further strengthen Second Harvest’s ability to serve our neighbors.”

In addition to Irick’s 35-years as an executive in the financial banking industry, his commitment to excellence has been proven through community involvement, including: Developmental Disabilities of Clark County board past president; United Way of Clark, Champaign & Madison Counties 2023 Campaign co-chairs with his wife, Tammy; Wellspring treasurer; Rotary past president; Clark State Scholars Mentor; and Springfield Museum of Art past board member.
