Students from Indian Lake High School and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center are coming together to mourn the loss of their classmate and friend, Chloe Hodge.

She passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, following injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, Jan. 25.

“Chloe was a junior from Indian Lake High School in the Health Careers Academy program at OHP. Chloe was a bright light who always wanted to help people. She was smart, funny, and always quick to lend a hand. Chloe continues to help others as an organ and tissue donor,” officials from both school districts said in a joint statement.

“The Loss Crisis Team has counselors at both Indian Lake High School and OHP at this time to help students and staff who are struggling. The team will be available throughout the week and as needed in the future.

“This is a really difficult time for the students and staff of both schools. For Indian Lake, this is the second tragic loss of a student in two months. We will get through this together, as hard as the days ahead will be. We very much appreciate the outpouring of support that we have already received from our community.”

Thursday, Feb. 1, the day of her services, students and staff of both schools are asked to wear her favorite color — lavender — in Chloe’s honor.

Visitation takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Bellefontaine Grace Church, 2220 S. Main St., Bellefontaine. Pastor Daniel O’Kane will officiate services at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church following the visitation.
