Benjamin Logan’s boys basketball program is in need of a head coach as Cameron Saylor has stepped down following six seasons at the helm.

“I’m very appreciative to have been given the opportunity to realize my dream of leading the program that has been such a huge part of my life,” said Saylor, who was a standout player at Ben Logan before later coming back to coach the Raiders. “My main goals when I took over were to provide stability to the program, provide leadership to young men who would go on to lead successful lives, win more tournament games and bring a conference title to Raider Nation. All of which were accomplished and I’m proud of that.”

During his first season, 2017-18, the Raiders went 7-16 under Saylor.

The next year, they improved to 13-11 and won the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division title.

After a 7-17 mark in the 2019-20 campaign, the Raiders bounced back to go 14-9 in the 2020-21 season.

The Raiders struggled the last two seasons, going 2-21 two years ago and 0-23 this season.

On his way out, Saylor spoke highly of those he has worked with during his tenure.

“I’d like to thank all the players, parents, faculty, community as well as fellow coaches and my family for all of their support,” he said. “I’m looking forward to more time to spend with my family and being able to watch games from a different perspective.”

Ben Logan athletic director Beau Harmon said he has been grateful for the effort Saylor has dedicated to Ben Logan.

“Cam is a valued member of our Benjamin Logan Alumni,” said Harmon. “His love and dedication for Raider basketball is greatly appreciated and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
