Sandra Lee Stevens Helgeson of Lakeview went to her heavenly home on November 6, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born in 1943 to the late Floyd and Opal Stevens, Sandy was a graduate of Lewistown High School and a well-known musician in the area, having served for many years as organist and music director at St. Mary of the Woods Church and the Logannaires Barbershop Chorus.
She also developed and directed Nashville Hitmakers, the annual fundraising concert to benefit the Indian Lake Watershed Project. She loved reading, cooking, entertaining, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her beloved husband, Dave Helgeson; her son, Kent (Jenifer) Burnside; her grandchildren, Grant, Davis, Bennett, and Mina Burnside; her stepdaughters, Katie (Adam) Cramer and Shelly (Zach) Wise; step-grandchildren, Gabe Cramer, Lauren Cramer, and Eugenia Wise; and her brother, Even (Korene) Stevens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Sandy’s memory to Indian Lake Watershed Project
Pastors Karen Blackburn and Jim Ellington will begin memorial services at 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, at Indian Lake Community Church, Russells Point with visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Indian Lake Watershed Project.
