Ruth Ann Bodle, age 77, died on November 25, 2023 in Harlingen, Texas after a brief illness.
Ruth Ann was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on May 5, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Gerald R. and H. Joan Julien (Powers). She is survived by 2 daughters, Julie Weathers (Jeff) and Billie Jean May; 2 sons, Charles William Bodle II (Diane) and Patrick Bodle and his wife and 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth Ann lived in Logan County, Ohio, for most of her life and graduated from Indian Lake High School in 1964. Throughout her life she enjoyed singing for special occasions and in church choirs. She was a faithful member of several church congregations throughout her life. She professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior. This fact is a great comfort to her family now that she is gone. She made certain her children attended church from an early age.
Ruth Ann once said during a job interview that her greatest accomplishment was raising 4 productive children. She adored her grandchildren with all her heart and her home was covered with photos of them. Everyone that entered her home could tell she was proud of those kids!
After both of her husbands died, Ruth Ann began visiting friends in South Texas for the winter and eventually became a year-round resident. During her time in Texas she made many friends and had a blast. She especially enjoyed the warm climate. Some of her favorite activities included playing bingo, dancing, swimming, playing cards, and as always, sharing her gift of singing with the friends in her community. She blessed many lives with her out-going personality, sense of humor and uplifting attitude towards others – even when she didn’t feel well. Her friends could count on her to bring joy to a gathering. She is already greatly missed by her community family in Harlingen.
A beautiful remembrance service was held in Harlingen for Ruth Ann on December 4, 2023.
A visitation with family and friends and a celebration of Ruth Ann’s life will be held at First Church of God Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorials in honor of Ruth Ann may be made to the organization of donors choosing.
We are sad that our Mom is no longer with us on this earth. However, we are thankful she is no longer bound in an afflicted body and the strife of this world. We rejoice that she has gone on to Glory. Hallelujah and Amen it is so!
