Ronald Eugene Landis, 78 of Marysville, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the OSU Medical Center.
Ron was born September 2, 1946, in Dayton to the late Donna (Landis) Wilt and was raised by Donna and Rolla Wilt. On July 5, 1969, in Bellefontaine Ron married the love of his life Deborah Jean Gross, who preceded in him death.
Ron was a 1968 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He later joined the United States Army, honorably serving his county for 3 years. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Ron enjoyed watching NASCAR, one of his favorite sayings was “Shake-N-Bake.” He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. Ron loved spending time with his family every weekend, playing board games and card games.
Above all he loved spending time with his grandkids, they were a true joy in his life. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ron is survived by his daughter Nicole “Nikki” (Derek) Parrott; grandchildren, Bryan (Shelby) Landis, Destyni Stevenson, Eli and Nevaeh Parrott, Cade Hatcher; great grandchildren, Aubrie Landis, Delanie Landis and Grayson Landis; sister, Linda Peck; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Deborah Jean Landis; sons, Ronald Eugene Landis Jr. and Shawn Nelson; siblings, James N. Wilt and Thomas E. “Tiny” Wilt.
A Funeral Service will take place Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home, 5591 US Hwy 68 S., West Liberty, OH 43357. Visitation will take place from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
Per Ron’s request, the family would like for those attending to please wear their OSU Buckeye, Bengals, NASCAR or casual attire for Ron’s services.
