Robert “Bob” Franklin Fry, 85, of DeGraff, passed away at 5:46 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio. He was born in Quincy, Ohio, a son of the late Robert Theodore Fry and Minnie Helen (Cummings) Fry.
On July 13, 1958, Bob married Fonda Lou (Madden) Fry in DeGraff, Ohio and she survives, along with their two sons, Steven (Aimie) Fry, and Chad (Cindy) Fry, both of DeGraff; three grandchildren, Morgan Fry, Delanie (David) Baustert, and Cody Leach; two great grandchildren, Lillian Baustert, and Garrett Baustert; a brother, Rick (Terry) Fry of Piqua; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob served in the U.S. Army Ready Reserve Company C 7th Battalion from 1955 to 1963. An ambitious man with many talents, Bob owned and operated Fry’s Garage for 18 years and Davis-Fry Insurance from 1977 to 2007, worked at Comer Insurance until retirement, as a real estate agent for Dorothy Thacker Agency, and was a bus driver for Riverside Local Schools for 35 years. Bob enjoyed attending car shows and working on antique automobiles. He was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff, a 55-year member of Bogg’s Lodge #292 F&AM in DeGraff, and a combined 53-year member of O.E.S. Constance Chapter, O.E.S. Sarah Elizabeth Chapter, and most recently O.E.S. Chapter #459 in Bellefontaine.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff with a masonic service will begin at 6:45 p.m. Pastor Michael Mitchell will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th at Cornerstone Fellowship in DeGraff, 1839 County Road 24 S. in DeGraff. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
