Robert “Bob” J. Meier, 88, passed away from this life to eternal life on December 17, 2023.  He was born Aug 10, 1935, to the late Gertrude (Schneider) and Clem Meier.  He married Miriam (Grouver) Winski, and she preceded him in death in 1984.  He married Jean Watercutter in 1994 and they moved to Indian Lake.

Surviving are his children Chris (Mike) Smoody of Findlay; Phil Meier of Maynardville, TN; and daughter-in-law Heather Rial Meier of Knoxville, TN; Brian (Laura) Watercutter of Minster, OH; and Stephanie (Randy) Thompson of Lake Havasu City, AR; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by son Rick Meier, siblings and in-laws Mary Lou and Don Kinstle, Pete and Connie Meier, George and Mary Katherine Meier, and Jim Meier.

Bob was a graduate of Wapakoneta St. Joseph School and retired from General Mills in 1996.  Bob was a man of deep faith and was active in St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay.  When he wasn’t taking care of his apartments in Findlay he enjoyed his retired life at Indian Lake, socializing with friends, and sitting and watching the lake from his home.  Bob and Jean spent many winters in Florida socializing with new friends.  Bob loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved to see them grow, experience new things and develop themselves to their full potential and live their best life.

Bob spent his life making friends.  He never knew a stranger.

Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will begin Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Friday, December 22, 2023, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 464 Madison Ave, Russells Point, OH. Visitation is Thursday, December 21st from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, and one hour prior to services on Friday at church. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Findlay, OH.

Memorial contributions may be given in Bob’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society or Logan County Cancer Society.
