Riverside’s McDaniel wins TRC player of year award for the 3rd time

Riverside standout junior Reaghan McDaniel earned the Three Rivers Conference medalist of the year honor for the third time in her career this season.

McDaniel had a perfect 12-0 record in league matches and won the TRC tournament with a round of 83.

She is undefeated in the TRC during her three years of golf with a 35-0 record. She is a three-time league tournament champion as well.

The Lady Pirates finished second in the league tournament at Sugar Isle and finished second for the season with an 11-4 record. In addition to the 83 from McDaniel at the TRC tourney, the Pirates received a 110 from Kenna Johnson and a 118 from Zoie Armbruster. Johnson ranked ninth in the individual standings and Armbruster was 11th.

BOYS GOLF: Chiefs down Raiders in final regular-season match

Bellefontaine’s boys golf team defeated Benjamin Logan 164-201 on Monday at Liberty Hills Golf Club. Rory Pierce, the lone senior for the Chiefs, shot a career-best 36. That included an eagle on the 14th hole. He holed out from 108 yards. Also for the Chiefs, Collen Brugler shot 39, Kyle Boop had 42 and Noah Smith shot 47.
