Riverside traveled to Auglaize County on Thursday for a 7 on 7 workout.
A number of fans were on hand as well to watch the teams battle each other and the 90-degree heat.
Riverside had a final record of 4-7 last year. They were 3-4 in Three Rivers Conference action and 4-6 overall. They qualified for the postseason, losing to Lehman Catholic in the first round.
Scrimmages will be held Aug. 8 at West Liberty-Salem and Aug. 15 at Triad. The Pirates’ season opener will be Aug. 22 at Ansonia.
Other area season openers are: Bellefonatine at Allen East; Ben Logan at Blufffton; Indian Lake at Bath; and Jonathan Alder at West Liberty-Salem.
