Richard “Rick” Warren Stevens, 75 years of age, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
He was born on July 9, 1950, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Howard Stevens and Esther “Dickie” (Hill) Stevens. Rick married his soulmate, Caroline “Joyce” Stevens on December 5, 1975, who preceded him in death on December 5, 2022.
Rick is survived by his siblings; Lora Stevens and Melody (Dave) Babyak. Children; Trenna (Tracy) Cupps, Shannon (Jeff) Spence, Floyd Stevens, and W.R. Andrew (Lauren) Stevens. Grandchildren; Tessa (Tony) Benedetti, Garret (Erin) Drumm, Shawn Stevens, Andrea Stevens, Gavin Spence, Nicole Stevens, Harrison Stevens, five great grandchildren, and his longtime friend Dave Roberts.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; Howard and Esther Stevens, his brother Floyd Eugene Stevens, and close friend, Howard Thaxton.
He graduated from Belle Center High School in 1969. Rick was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, cutting wood, working in the garden, taking care of animals, and working in his tool shop. He also enjoyed a few drinks with his close friends, listening to old country music, and spending time with his family.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Barely Used Pets in Urbana, Ohio, or Bridge Hospice Care Center.
