A Grove City man was arrested early New Year’s Day following a reported sexual assault in the West Mansfield area.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 1:44 a.m. to a residence along County Road 142 after a woman reported being sexually assaulted.
Deputies arriving on scene to find the suspect, 28-year-old Alexander Tamim, who was reportedly armed and intoxicated, being detained by two other men.
Tamim was arrested on suspicion of rape, a first-degree felony.
The alleged assault occurred during a New Year’s gathering at the residence, according to reports.
The suspect was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged.
The case remains under investigastion.
