Randy Joe Packman, 73, of Russells Point, OH, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

Randy was born on January 9, 1951, in Sidney, OH, a son of the late Clifford and Edna Ike Packman. Randy married Sharon Williams Davis on July 14, 2001, and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Randy Scott (Rachel) Packman of Cecilia, KY, stepdaughters, Emily (Chuck) Carey of McGuffey, OH, Kathy (Eric) Fleming of Russells Point, and Lorie (Kurt) Hulbert of Huntsville, OH, 14 grandchildren, Connor Packman, Caleb Packman, Kassidy Packman, Austin (Allison) Carey, Jayson Carey, Megan Carey, Tasha (Chris) Carpenter, Ashley (Chelsie) Fleming, Jacob Hulbert, Andrew (Jenna) Hulbert, and six great grandchildren.

Randy developed his love for drag racing when his beloved great uncle, Roy Pence built Pence’s Drag Strip in Sidney. He had his own race car for many years. Even after he stopped racing, he was an avid fan. In later years, Randy went to a slower form of recreation, Four Wheelers. He taught all of his grandchildren how to drive them at his and Sharon’s loved property in Sidney. Randy loved camping there with many family members and friends. And always had big campfires at night.

Randy worked for many years in the retail grocery business. First as a worker, then manager, and lastly, he owned his own store, Packman’s IGA in North Lewisburg, OH. After Randy sold his store, he went to work as a manager for a Dollar General store and after a few years, finally decided to retire.

Above all, Randy loved and was very proud of his son, Randy Scott and his entire family. He will be deeply missed by them all.

Per Randy’s wishes, there will be no public services.
