According to reports, an officer on routine patrol around 10:50 p.m. observed a Honda Odyssey stopped at a stop sign at West Brown Avenue and North Main Street. The vehicle appeared similar to one known to be associated with Gross, who officers knew had an active warrant through the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The officer later observed the same van traveling through an alley near the 200 block of North Main Street, close to where Gross resides, and pulled in front of the vehicle to make contact with the occupants.
Gross was seated in the passenger seat and was slouched down, appearing to avoid being seen. As the officer approached, the driver was informed that Gross was in the vehicle and that she had an active warrant that needed to be addressed.
Gross exited the vehicle, walked toward the rear of the van and then suddenly ran from the scene.
After a brief chase, Gross looked back, stopped and turned around, surrendering without further resistance. She was taken into custody and handcuffed.
Dispatch confirmed the warrant, which stemmed from a prior felony drug case involving possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs. No additional charges were filed during the arrest.
Gross was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she was lodged.
