Pirates snag walk-off win over M-Union

Riverside’s baseball team celebrated senior night with a 3-2 eight-inning walk-off win over visiting Milton-Union in Three Rivers Conference action Thursday.

The Pirates are now 8-11 overall and 6-5 in the TRC. The Bulldogs drop to 7-9, 7-5.

Sam King delivered a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning to plate Cam Shoe with the winning run.

Warren Shockey went 7 2/3 innings on the mound, giving up 10 hits, two runs and striking out 13 for the Pirates.

Zander Crouch worked 2/3 of an inning to get the win.

Crouch had a pair of hits to lead the Riverside offense.

The Pirates are back in action Monday at home against Anna.

Lakers fall to Tecumseh, Cougars

Indian Lake’s baseball team fell to host Tecumseh 3-2 on Thursday and then lost 7-5 in nine innings at home to Kenton Ridge on Friday.

Despite the two losses, the Lakers have clinched at least a share of the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division with a 10-5 league mark. Indian Lake can wrap up the outright title Tuesday at home against Urbana.

The Lakers are now 15-7 overall.

The Lakers got off to a good start Thursday against the Arrows with a pair of runs in the first inning.

Indian Lake added a run in the top of the fourth to make it 3-0.

Tecumseh grabbed the momentum, though, with four runs in the bottom of the fourth frame for a 4-3 lead.

The Arrows tacked on two more runs in the sixth.

Offensively for the Lakers, Chase Baldwin had a double and Camdon Tuttle had an RBI.
In Friday’s game, Indian Lake 4-1 after three innings.

The Cougars scored once in the fourth and three times in the sixth to take a 5-4 lead.

The Lakers pushed a run across the plate in the bottom of the seventh to knot the score at 5-5.

Neither team scored in the eighth inning, forcing another extra frame.

In the top of the ninth, the Cougars came up with a two-run triple with two outs to grab a 7-5 lead.

The Lakers were retired in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Baldwin went 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Madden Lillard went 2-4 with an

RBI to lead the Laker bats. Gavin Lones added a double and an RBI.

Chiefs shut out Graham

Kaden Reames tossed a two-hit shutout to lead host Bellefontaine to a 2-0 victory over Graham in a Central Buckeye Conference game Friday.

The Chiefs are now 10-8 overall and 7-7 in the CBC. Graham falls to 13-9, 10-6.
Bellefontaine scored both of its runs in the sixth inning.

Reames struck out six and did not walk a batter.

Chris Fogan had a triple and Owen Larison and Brody Boy each had an RBI to lead the Chiefs at the plate.

Tigers lose to Indians, beat Panthers

West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team lost to visiting Mechanicsburg 4-1 in Ohio Heritage Conference play Thursday.

The Tigers scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 1-0 lead, but that was short lived.

The Indians plated four runs in the top of the sixth and held on from there to get the win.

The Tigers bounced back with a 4-3 win over visiting Fairbanks on Friday.

WL-S scored all four of its runs in the first inning and fought off the Panthers in the final innings to hold on for the victory.

Jayden Temple went 3-4 with an RBI and Sam Lauck went 2-3 with an RBI to lead the WL-S offense.

Eli Allen worked five innings to get the win on the mound. He gave up six hits, one earned run and struck out eight.

Raiders lose to Wildcats, top London

Visiting North Union was able to grind out a 2-0 win over host Benjamin Logan in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Thursday.

Ben Logan bounced back Friday with an 8-0 win over host London.

The Raiders are now 7-13 overall and 5-11 in the CBC.

On Thursday, North Union scored a run in the first inning and added an insurance run in the fifth.

Ben Logan out-hit the Wildcats 5-4, but could not push any runners across the plate.

E.J. Martin went 2-3 to lead Ben Logan’s offense.

Hayden Kennaw turned in a strong outing on the mound despite getting the loss. He allowed four hits, two earned runs, struck out three and walked four.

In Friday’s game, Hunter Peterson earned the win on the mound for the Raiders. He went six innings, allowed two hits and struck out five.

Kam Allen went 2-3 and Bryden Morris had a double for the Raiders.
