Riverside’s boys basketball team was unable to stay with host Lehman in the second half on Friday as the Cavaliers pulled away for a 55-38 victory in Three Rivers Conference action.
The Pirates drop to 5-11 overall and 2-9 in the TRC. Lehman improves to 11-6, 6-5.
Riverside trailed by just one points (12-11) after the first quarter. The Cavaliers pushed their lead to six points (28-22) at the intermission.
Lehman began to distance itself in the third quarter. The Cavaliers outscored the Pirates 16-9 in the period to lead by 13 (44-31).
Lehman stayed in control in the final quarter to wrap up the win.
Myles Platfoot led the Pirates with 12 points and three steals. Ayden Clary had 10 points and four blocks and Jaxon Woods added six points and four assists.
Donovan O’Leary led Lehman with a game-high 19 points.
In the junior varsity game, Riverside won 32-24. Reese Jenkins led the Pirates with 14 points and four rebounds. Davie Smith added 10 points, four assists and three steals.
The Pirates’ freshman team fell 22-19 in overtime. Camden Shoe had six points and six rebounds for the Pirates and Houston Anderson added four points.
Riverside is back in action tonight at Houston.
