Pirates fall to Lehman Catholic

SIDNEY — Riverside lost 38-31 to host Lehman Catholic in a Three Rivers Conference football contest on Saturday.

Lehman Catholic took a 22-6 lead in the first quarter, with Dylan Trimble scoring on a 58-yard run for the Pirates. The PAT was no good.

In the second quarter, Riverside got a 3-yard run by Gunner Carpenter, with the two-point conversion attempt no good. Trimble then had a 50-yard run. The conversion again failed, making it 22-18.

Lehman Catholic answered with a four-yard touchdown pass and two-point conversion to lead 30-18 at halftime.

Carpenter had the only points of the third quarter for either side, scoring on a 37-yard run. The try for two was no good, putting it at 30-24.

In the final period, Tony Robinson ran for a 2-yard score with 6:46 to play, and Brody Orsborne added the PAT to put the Pirates ahead 31-30.

But the Cavaliers were able to drive and scored on a 68-yard pass, then add the two-point conversion.

Orsborne was 3 of 7 passing for 95 yards. One was to Trimble (56 yards), one to Justin Mazariegos (22 yards) and one went to Robinson (17 yards).

Trimble had 16 carries for 187 yards, Robinson ran 18 times for 93 yards and Carpenter finished with 13 carries for 62 yards.

Riverside (3-3 TRC, 4-5 overall) ends the regular season on Friday at home against Miami East. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
