Later with her daughter Heather she opened Team Spirit; where she was a co-owner and coach for 10 years. She also worked many years in the family auction business.  She enjoyed traveling and visits to the casino. Phyllis loved to read murder mysteries, crochet, watch the Wizard of Oz, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the twinkle in her eye and she was seen as very protective of them.
