Phillip “Phil” Earl Ramsey, 85, of Ridgeway, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on January 23, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus. Phil was born September 25, 1939, at home in Ridgeway to the late Foster and Norma (Smith) Ramsey.

Phil was a 1958 graduate of Ridgeway High School. He married Judy Jacobs on September 4, 1960, and they settled down on the family farm outside of Ridgeway. They raised four children, the late Kenneth Ramsey, Kathy (Kent) Jones of West Mansfield, Keith (Bridget) Ramsey of Ridgeway, and Karen (Mike) Huisman of Marysville.

Phil took great pride in being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and farmer. He was known to always be working, whether it was in the field, in the garden or in his home and still never missing a moment with his grandkids. In addition to serving his family, Phil was a part of the Logan Co Farm Bureau, Logan Co Young Farmers and he devoted 38 years as a 4H advisor for the Ridgeway Jr. Boosters. He was also a member of the Ridgeway United Methodist Church. Through him, we all learned what hard work, unwavering commitment and unconditional love looked like.

Phil is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, his son Kenneth Ramsey, his in-laws Earl and Jean Jacobs, his brothers James and Charles Ramsey and sister in law Barbara Ramsey.

Phil is survived by three of his children and their spouses. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, whom he loved and adored: Amanda (Joe) and Matthew Simpson; Colby, Jordan, and Gabe Ramsey; Jason (Mysti), Charlotte and Perrin Ramsey; Kyle (Jen), Nathan, Will, and Logan Jones; Kurtis (Ashley), Kennedy and Harrison Jones; Kasey (Destiny), Waylon and Stella Jones; Kirk, Kane, and Kooper Ramsey; Hailey (Timothy) and Judah Rodriguez; Shelby (Steffen) Jameson and Grayson DeLong; Jacob and Hanna Huisman. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis (Ed) Perkins of Kenton, sister-in-law’s Joyce Ramsey of Mt. Victory and Janice Miller of Kenton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Phil will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory with Pastor Jmac Geissinger officiating. Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Phil’s honor may be made to Kobacker House via the funeral home.
