Philip Lyn Alloway, 76, of Huntsville and formerly of Belle Center, passed away Friday evening, June 30, 2023, at Urbana Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Philip was born in Bellefontaine on October 16, 1946, to the late Max Alloway and Eileen (Patton) Alloway. He was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Maisyn Jane Davis, and brother-in-law Jerry McLaughlin.
Philip is survived by his daughters: Tricia Alloway of Urbana, and Terry (Matt) Randolph of Bremen, Indiana; 5 grandchildren: Carolyn Randolph, Bethany Randolph, Philip (Sara) Davis, Shelby Davis, and Heath Elliott; a great-granddaughter Callianne Sue Davis; a brother Daniel J. (Holly) Alloway of North Carolina; a sister Jean Ann McLaughlin of Lebanon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Belle Center High School, Philip retired as a Lieutenant after working for the Logan County Sheriff Department and the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office from 1969 – 1992. He was a Richland Township trustee for many years and was an active volunteer at the Holland Theatre where he was also on the Board of Trustees. Following his retirement, Philip ran Alloway Construction for several years. He loved fishing, playing cards, watching college football and NASCAR. Philip was always interested in hearing what his grandchildren were doing and their latest activities and accomplishments.
Pastor Mike Phillips will officiate the funeral on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 11am at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where the visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4-7pm. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
