Paul Peter Kondrath passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on October 7, 2025.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 3, 1947, to Gus and Mary Kondrath, he later moved with his family to Dayton, Ohio. Paul proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and worked in the plastics industry. Known for his generosity and kind heart, he never met a stranger and cherished making others smile.
Paul loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, cooking and sharing meals, celebrating holidays, playing with his grandkids, and talking with his lifelong friend Frank about the Detroit Tigers. He is survived by his children Shelley (Jim) Conchelos, Shannon Edwards, Seth (Amanda) Kondrath, Elizabeth (Rob) Bibart, Mollie Kondrath, and Amelia (Mathew) Roach; grandchildren Taylor, Ian (Jordan), Madalyn, Emma (Josh), Clay (Taylor), Cole, Donovan, Elijah (Avery), Heidi, Claire, Gus, Oscar, Max, Oliver, and Olivia; great-grandchildren; sisters Patricia Buhagiar and Sylvia (Bill) Ryan; brothers Jerry Kondrath and Jon (Debbie) Kondrath; and many nieces, nephews, and friends from Shawnee Springs.
He was preceded in death by his son David Kondrath; parents Gus and Mary Kondrath; and brothers Anthony, Peter, and George Kondrath.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 28, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Family visitation at 9:30 a.m.; public visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m; funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service at Dayton National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
