Date:

Patricia “Pat” Mae Hale-Barnes; our Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend at the age of 91 went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon August 6, 2023.

We are so thankful for the many sacrifices she made for her family and remember her early morning devotions where she would be seen kneeling at the couch as she prayed for our family and for each new generation and generations to come. We were and are BLESSED beyond measure to have had her in our lives.

Pat was born July 31, 1932 in West Liberty to the late John Arthur and Sarah Amanda (Hooley) Hale. When Arthur passed away Pat’s mother Amanda married Paul Jacobs, who became a loving stepfather to her family.

On July 16, 1950 in Bellefontaine she married the love of her life Harry Barnes Jr. who preceded her in death. After Harry’s passing she later married Bill O’Connor, who had also preceded her in death.

Pat loved her family beyond measure and was always up for an adventure. She always made the holidays so special. She loved to decorate and was an accomplished artist. Pat loved to sing and was often asked to sing at Goshen Friends Church, the little country Church that she saw in a dream before She and Dad moved to the farm in January 1958, which became her family’s church.

She eventually went to work at the Logan County Bank that would later become National City Bank. She started as a teller and had worked her way up to Bank President before she retired in 1997.

She always worked hard and was very active in the community and served on several boards. As her family, even though proud of her hard work and many accomplishments and accolades, we are most thankful for the legacy she left us as our Praying Mom.

She is survived by her children, Christa (Don) Epps, Jana Boysel, Teresa (Larry) Morris, David Barnes and Tim Barnes; grandchildren, Andrea (Rodney) Wrocklage, Shane Boysel, Micah (Lora) Boysel, Joel (Breanna) Boysel , Sara (Ryan) Hunsicker, Alysia (Jason) Kuba, Hayley (Blake) Palmer, Jared Barnes, Jacob (Jessica) Barnes, Kane Barnes, Emily (Eddie) Garcia, Katie Barnes and Ross Barnes; many loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Harry Barnes Jr.; son-in-law, Don Boysel; granddaughter, Natalie Boysel; stepfather, Paul Jacobs; sister, Phyllis Lipoma; brother, Phillip Hale.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Goshen Friends Church, 5527 Co Rd 153, Zanesfield, OH 43360. A private family service will take place after the time of visitation. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery after the private family service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
