Brandan Berry, 32, and Crystal Berry, 32, both of Bellefontaine, were each charged with possession of cocaine related to a traffic stop Thursday, Oct. 12.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 3:30 p.m. on State Route 235 near County Road 13 conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Brandan and occupied by Crystal for an equipment violation.
Upon making contact with the defendants, officers observed that they were overly nervous for the traffic stop. Crystal admitted to having marijuana inside of the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted and a white powdery substance was located. The white powdery substance tested positive for cocaine. A marijuana vapor pen was also located.
Brandan and Crystal were taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
