OVI arrests reported

Pamela Angel, 56 of Norwood, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs relating to a traffic stop about 5:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on State Route 235 near State Route 708 and conducted a traffic stop on Angel for a marked lanes violation.

Upon making contact with the driver, signs of impairment were observed. The defendant admitted to consuming alcohol. Officers then located open containers of beer inside of her vehicle. Angel admitted to drinking the beer while driving. She refused to submit to field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest.

The defendant was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. Once at the jail, she refused to submit to a breath test. She was released to a sober driver.

• Brett Deardorff, 48, of Lewistown, was charged with OVI relating to a traffic stop Saturday, Aug. 5.

Officers were on patrol on State Route 366 near Township Road 94 and conducted a traffic stop on the defendant for a turn signal and left of center violation.

Upon making contact with Deardorff, signs of intoxication were observed. He admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. Deardorff submitted to field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for OVI.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. Once at the jail, he submitted to a breath test and tested 0.134. He was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and left of center. He was released to a sober driver.
