Opal May Gilliam, 59, of Russells Point, OH passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at her home.
Opal was born on October 18, 1963, in Springfield, OH, a daughter of the late Allie Whitt, Sr. and Mary Henry Whitt Shroyer. She is also preceded in death by a son, Adam Gilliam, two sisters, Mary Warner, and Brenda Yoakam.
Opal is survived by her son, James W. Gilliam, Jr. of Russells Point, a granddaughter, Shaila Gilliam, a great-grandson, Atlas Gilliam, three brothers, Tony Whitt, Sr. of Russells Point, Terry (Mandy) Whitt of Virginia, and Buster (Tammy) Whitt, Jr. of Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.
Opal was a 1982 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She former worked at Heartland of Indian Lake. Opal enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, drawing, fishing, and watching movies. Her greatest joy came from being with her family.
A celebration of Opal’s life will be Sunday, August 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. at 7273 Delaware Dr, Russells Point.
