EDITOR’S NOTE: An online fundraiser page has been started for the Huntsville teen critically injured in a Nov. 2 wrong-way crash involving a suspected impaired driver on U.S. Route 33 at State Route 540.

Morgan Gross started a GoFundMe page to help with medical and family expenses for her younger sister, Chloe Gross, 18, who remains hospitalized and is in a coma and on life support, according to information provided on the page.

As of about 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, the page had received $7,321 in donations toward its $10,000 goal.

On Nov. 2nd 2024 at 1:30am, my little sister Chloe Gross was on her way home from cosmetology school and a drunk driver hit her head on going in the wrong direction on hwy 33. She has been on life support and fighting for her life ever since. She has had many long surgeries putting all her pieces back together. She is suffering from severe brain damage on her frontal lobe. She had her femurs on both legs fractured and rods put in. Her left arm completely damaged and took 2 surgeries to fix it. Her jaw and cheek broken they had to remove teeth and wired her jaw shut. Her right eye had lacerations and was sewed shut. Her left ear canal collapsed and has a stint in it. She had to have a tracheostomy as well. She is in a coma and hasn’t awaken yet but is fighting so hard, her guardian angels are working overtime.

This is absolutely life-changing not only for her but for our family who cannot work right now to support her. Please help out if you can by donating or spreading the word. Even if you don’t donate please share and spread the word that drunk driving kills. Thank you all.
