Ohio Hi-Point Career Center invites the community to sign up for the Hi-Point Hustle 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 6, for a fun day of racing for a good cause.

The race begins at 9 a.m. and starts and ends on OHP’s campus — the highest point in Ohio.

The Hi-Point Hustle 5K is hosted by students involved in Ohio Hi-Point’s HOSA Future Health Professionals chapters on the OHP Bellefontaine Campus and satellite locations.

All proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The OHP HOSA leaders selected JDRF as they have fellow classmates who are impacted directly by type 1 diabetes. This event is for anyone who wishes to run/walk in support of this impactful foundation.

Registration is $30 and includes a race t-shirt designed and printed by Ohio Hi-Point’s Graphic and Media Arts Academy students. Families and kids are encouraged to come as a 1-mile fun run is free. Community members can sign up for the Hi-Point Hustle at www.ohiohipoint.com/hustle.

RaceJoy, a live phone tracking, GPS progress alerts, and cheerleading app, is provided to runners/walkers as part of the official race experience.

Special recognition will be given to the top three overall finishers by gender and the top finisher by gender in each age category of 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. The top three overall finishers by gender will receive a custom medal crafted by the OHP Welding and Fabrication students.

For beginners, a Couch to 5K Workout Plan is offered in partnership with the Logan County School Employee’s Consortium.
