No injuries reported in car, semi crash

Tia M. Hassel, 29, of Jackson Center, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash involving her car and a semi tractor-trailer Tuesday afternoon, March 28.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating an eastbound 2006 Nissan Altima about 1:10 p.m. in the right lane of U.S. Route 33 in McArthur Township when she attempted to pass a semi operated by John C. Boston, 55, of Columbus. She reportedly entered the left lane of U.S. 33 and lost control, striking the left side of the semi and spinning out, coming to a final rest in the left lane.

The semi continued eastbound and then pulled over to the right side in the berm after the crash.

Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.

• Tongshan Yang, 43, of Long Grove, Ill., was cited for a stop sign violation related to a non-injury crash Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies report Yang was operating a southbound 2023 Ford F-150 On County Road 49 about 2:25 p.m. and he stopped at the stop sign for County Road 105. He then pulled into the path of a 1998 Ford F-150 operated by Timothy D. Stine, 63, of Belle Center, and was struck on the front driver’s side by the Stine pickup.

Damage was heavy to the Stine vehicle and moderate to the Yang vehicle. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
