Jordan A. Duff, 19, of Mechanicsburg, was checked by Macochee EMS at the scene of a one-vehicle crash Tuesday evening, March 7, but he did not report any injuries.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a southbound 2003 Dodge Dakota about 11:20 p.m. on County Road 1 near County Road 47 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the left side of the road.
The vehicle overturned onto its side and then back to its wheels, coming to rest in a ditch. Deputies said a telephone box also was struck during the accident.
Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene. The driver was cited for failure to control and was wearing his seat belt.
• Deputies also responded to a medically-related, non-injury crash about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of Township Road 56.
William E. Rittershausen, 79, of Bellefontaine, reportedly was operating a northbound 2013 GMC Terrain when he drove off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
His vehicle continued into a field, where it came to a rest.
The driver told deputies he was returning home after having bloodwork performed that morning, where he had to fast the previous evening. He stated he believes he passed out at the time of the crash.
No citations were issued. Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
• Emily A. Harford, 18, of Lakeview, was cited for failure to exchange information after a crash related to a non-injury crash in a parking lot about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday by Community Markets, 8793 Township Road 239, Lakeview.
Deputies report she was operating a 2006 Ford F-150 in the parking lot and struck the rear driver’s side of a parked, unoccupied 2017 Honda Civic owned by Sherimae Carter of Russells Point.
Witnesses were able to provide deputies with pictures of Harford’s vehicle at the scene.
Damage was light to both vehicles.
