Nicholas “Nick” B. Close, of Bellefontaine passed away suddenly Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his residence.
Nick was born October 12, 1980 in Bellefontaine to Charles Kenneth and Tina Ann (Orahood) Close Sr. On February 27, 2016 in Bellefontaine he married Amanda Marie Church, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Austin (Stephanie) Payne, Jordan Hensley, Lantz Close and Seth Close; grandchildren, Ethyn Payne and Xavyer Payne; siblings, Connie (Rob) Predmore, Junior (Sara) Close, Keith (Connie) Close, Dee Dee (Josh) Close, April (Mark) Daugherty, Daniel Close and Brandy (Marty) Walters; special niece, Zoey Daugherty; father-in-law, Steve (Rosetta) Church; brothers-in-law, George Monroe and Steven (Karen) Church; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; beloved furry companion, Barley.
Nick was a tattoo artist but loved art in general. He created a YouTube channel called Lost in Ohio. The channel became very popular and with it he became a local celebrity. He enjoyed cooking, Halloween festivities and loved music. Nick also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing Mario Kart. He loved being a dad and papaw. Nick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille Close, Charles Close, Alberta & Edwin Earl Orahood; beloved friend, Jason Daugherty; brother-in-law, Chris Church; furry companion, Boozy; mother-in-law, Alison Monroe; several loving aunts, uncles and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, May 5, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
