These two Logan county natives, Mary Liles Tuffin, left, and Lori Hollis McGunn, randomly ran into each other on New Year’s Day 2023 on a sidewalk in South Beach, Fla., of all places. It turns out the longtime friends had spent New Year’s Eve that year at the same hotel and attended the same party, but did not see each other. This year, Tuffin and McGunn brought in 2024 again on South Beach while reminiscing about their early days at Rushsylvania Middle School and Benjamin Logan High School.
