Kevin Fausnaugh Jr., 25, of Lancaster, right, recites the oath of office Tuesday, Jan. 2, as a new firefighter with the Bellefontaine Fire Department, as administered to him by Mayor Dave Crissman, a 30-year veteran of the BFD. The swearing-in ceremony was Crissman’s first in his new role as mayor. Fausnaugh, a native of Circleville, has previously served as a part-time firefighter in Huntington Township and also has volunteered with Pickaway Township. He is continuing a three-generation family tradition, with his father, Kevin Fausnaugh Sr. of Chillicothe, who attended the ceremony, working as a volunteer firefighter since 1984, and currently serving with Huntington Township Fire and Rescue. His grandfather also worked as a fire chief. His grandmother, Stella Kuhn, attended the ceremony as well. Kevin Jr. begins his service with the city Monday, Jan. 8. (EXAMINER PHOTO | Mandy Loehr)
