Classroom updates shared for Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan sites

Logan County Head Start has a new early childhood services coordinator and currently has openings for the infant/toddler program and preschool at the recently updated Bellefontaine location, which is housed at Union Station, 613 Hamilton St.

Christina Neill was named the new coordinator for the Council on Rural Services’ Logan County Head Start, and she serves families both at Union Station and Benjamin Logan.

Her background includes 14 years with Head Start, including spending the last seven years as a teacher who helped to start the Benjamin Logan preschool program.
“It’s been a wonderful and rewarding place to work. I’m excited for the new position and a new way to interact with more local families and to support their children in early learning,” she said this week.

Neill noted that both the infant/toddler program and preschool for ages 3-5 are full day (6.25 hours), five days a week. Those programs and the home-base visits are available for free for income-eligible families.

Home-base visits are offered weekly for 90 minute instructional and parenting education with case management, and also includes monthly social events for children and parents.

The Bellefontaine site has been located at Union Station for the past three years and was previously housed at the Discovery Center.

Neill and fellow staff members noted the many recent updates inside the Bellefontaine preschool rooms and infant/toddler rooms that go a long way in meeting student needs and creating a bright and inviting learning space. New playground equipment also has been installed outside.

In addition to the openings at the Bellefontaine site, the Benjamin Logan classroom also has a waiting list available.

To enroll your child, call (937) 916-2370 ext. 23295 or apply at corsp.org. Full-year and part-year options are available. Council on Rural Services also provides program updates via its Facebook page.
