Nevada Cummins, 93, of Bellefontaine, OH went to her eternal home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, to join the many loved ones who awaited her arrival.
Nevada was born on May 4, 1931, in Floyd, KY, a daughter of the late Lazra and Minnie Pitts Prater. Nevada married the love of her life, Lowell Cummins, on September 23, 1950, and their love was evident to all who knew them for 61 years until his death on November 1, 2011. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Banner Prater and Mary Alice Bowsher.
Nevada is survived by a son, Randy (Vicky) Cummins of Huntsville, OH, two grandchildren, Wade (Melinda) Cummins, and Kristy Crochran, three step-grandchildren, Aaron Nunn, April (Wes) Easton, and Jay (Katie) Nunn, great grandchildren, Ethan Frey, Kaitlyn Crochran, Cian Cummins, and Liam Cummins, and step-great grandchildren, Lauren Easton, Julia Easton, Gage Easton, Maryann Nunn, and Cameron Nunn.
Nevada was a 1949 graduate of Roundhead School. She handled accounting and finances for several companies over the years. She attended Russells Point Church of God her whole life. She loved traveling with Lowell, and they were members of Wally Byam Caravan Club, traveling throughout the United States, and taking several cruises. They also wintered in Florida for many years.
Nevada enjoyed crocheting and made Afghans for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and her Lord Jesus Christ gave her purpose and joy every day. She was truly a “Godly woman” who set an example of how one should live such a life and treat others.
Pastors Jeremy Stout and Joe Angles will officiate funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, November 29, at Russells Point Church of God, 430 State Route 708, Russells Point, with visitation from 11 am-1 pm. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Nevada’s memory to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care, 921 Rush Ave, Ste 1, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
