Nenita “Nita” Corpus King, 80, of Bellefontaine, left this world at 5:38 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her home. She was born on March 9, 1943, in San Narcisco, Zambales, Philippines, a daughter of the late Manuel Maggay and Germana (Acay) Corpus.
On July 25, 1975, Nita married John Edward King, a U.S. Navy veteran, in the Philippines, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Sammy.
Nita is survived by her sister-in-law, Milagras Agagas Corpus; three nieces, Jeunette Agagas Corpus, Jennifer Agagas Corpus, and Janemuel Agagas Corpus; two nephews, Jason Agagas Corpus, and Joel Agagas Corpus, all of the Philippines; a sister-in-law, Vicki of Bellefontaine; two nephews, David, and Shawn; and her dearest friends, Mary Rockhold, Delia Truesdale, and Cora Zon Sunga.
Nita had worked at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine. She loved cats. In her more active days, she enjoyed playing Bingo and attending Filipino parties. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date.
