An unlicensed motorist was cited following a two-vehicle crash that occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, along State Route 17 near the intersection at State Route 274 in Huntsville.
Widens Eloi, 33, of Springfield, was northwest bound on State Route 117 when the 2017 Toyota Camry he was operating traveled left-of-center and into the path of a southeast bound 2020 Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by Lance Sawyers, 22, of Heath, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
The Eloi vehicle came to rest sideways across S.R. 117. The pickup truck Sawyer was driving traveled off the southeast side of the road and came to a stop.
Bellefontaine Fire and EMS transported Eloi to Mary Rutan Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Sawyers was taken by Indian Lake EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Eloi was charged with driving under suspension. Damage was disabling to both vehicles and they were towed from the scene.
