A West Liberty woman was charged with drunk driving following a single-vehicle crash Monday morning, March 3, in the area of State Route 508 and Township Road 30.
Macy Roth, 21, was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to control after deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 9:45 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a white Honda Accord off the right side of the roadway, resting in the yard of a residence in the 8000 block of S.R. 508. Roth was sitting on the roadside near the vehicle with her mother.
Deputies observed Roth having difficulty focusing during their conversation. When asked to stand, she struggled to do so and had to be assisted by her mother and a deputy before taking a seat in her mother’s vehicle to stay warm.
She admitted to drinking that morning, and deputies detected an odor of alcohol. A container of vodka was observed in the cup holder of her vehicle.
Roth was transported Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for possible minor injuries. At the hospital, she submitted to a blood test after. Deputies continued to note an odor of alcohol on her person while serving her citations. Riverside EMS also assisted at the scene.
