Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following motorcycle crashes Monday, March 6:
• David M. Rogers, 30, of DeGraff, was transported by DeGraff EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash about 5:20 a.m.
Deputies report he was operating a northbound motorcycle on County Road 63 near Township Road 256 when a deer ran in front of him and his motorcycle struck the deer, causing Rogers to be thrown from the motorcycle.
Rogers was wearing a helmet and no citations were listed in the crash report. The motorcycle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
• Orlanda M. Lewis, 34, of Columbus, was transported by Perry Township EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash about 4:10 p.m.
Deputies report Lewis was operating an eastbound motorcycle in the 11000 block of State Route 347 near Honda of America Mfg at East Liberty. Lewis went off the right off of the road on a curve, slid into the ditch and struck a fence.
Damage was moderate to the motorcycle, which was towed from the scene. Lewis was cited for failure to control and was wearing a helmet, deputies said.
