Mary Rutan Health announces the addition of Emily Edwards, DPM, to its growing network of physicians this August.

Dr. Edwards will work alongside Dr. Eric Anderson at Mary Rutan Podiatry, where she will provide comprehensive foot and ankle medicine services.

“I am thrilled to join the expanding team of Mary Rutan Health physicians this summer. As a small-town Ohio native, I am passionate about providing exceptional, accessible healthcare to those in rural communities,” she said.

“Having spent the last three years in Lima completing my podiatry residency, I’m excited to stay in the area and continue to serve the west-central Ohio community.”

A Northeast Ohio native, Dr. Edwards attended Cleveland State University, where she was valedictorian of the College of Sciences & Health Professions, as well as summa cum laude from the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Honors College.

In 2017, Dr. Edwards earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. She then chose to pursue a degree in Podiatric Medicine, and in 2021, she earned her medical degree (DPM) from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.

Dr. Edwards completed her three-year surgical residency in Lima, Ohio, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, where she trained in a multitude of forefoot and rearfoot procedures, as well as wound care.

Dr. Anderson and Dr. Edwards utilize top-notch technology, techniques, and treatment strategies to provide comprehensive podiatry services that range from basic primary care to traumatic injury care and complete foot and ankle reconstruction.
