Mary Margaret (Wagner) Wells, 73, of Belle Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 2, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was born August 14, 1949 in Quitman, Mississippi to the late John Frederick and Marie Josephene (Shreves) Wagner.
Mary was a 1967 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. Mary worked at DAB for many years before transitioning to a career in public service.
After years of dedication to her work and serving many people throughout the community, Mary retired from Tri-County Community Action before spending her retirement with her partner in life, Robert Van Der Roest who proceeded her in death.
Along with her parents and life partner, Mary is preceded in death by her Sister Nancy, her lifelong friend, Harvey Wells and may pets whom she loved throughout the years as if they were her own children.
Mary is survived by her children John (Kim) Wells of Huntsville and Rick (Stacy) Wells of Lewistown, her grandchildren Alexandra (Jeremy) Mosley, Codi Wells, Ashly Wells (Austin Smith), Dustin Wells, Adrienne Wells (Seth Ferguson) and McKenzie Wells (Jarett Tucker). Mary is also survived by many great-grandchildren, her dear friend-Shelley Harmon, and a wonderful “bonus” family through Teresa and Randy Marker and all of Bob’s Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A celebration of life and a private burial will take place with close family at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory.
