Mary Ann Wallace, 89, of Huntsville, OH passed away Thursday morning, March 16, 2023 at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Mary Ann was born on January 31, 1934 in Springfield, OH, a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Asebrook Miller. She married Robert V. Wallace on May 19, 1951, by the Justice of the Peace before Robert left for Army bootcamp and then fought in the Korean War. Upon his return, they renewed their vows at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in 1953. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Archer, two sisters, Rita Harrison, and Ruth Bailey, a brother and his wife, Robert (Sarah) Miller, and brothers/sisters-in-law, Max Wallace, Don Wallace, Carl Wallace, Virginia and Junior Hulbert, Carol Graham, Mildred and Jack Shepard, and Dorothy and Bud Taylor.
Mary Ann is survived by six children, Michael (Susan) Wallace of Huntsville, Melody Archer of Bellefontaine, OH, Mary Kaye Allen of Grove City, OH, James Wallace of Huntsville, John (Miriam Pechar) Wallace of Roswell, GA, and Steven (Amby) Wallace of Lakeview, OH, 15 grandchildren, Brent (Amy) Wallace, Diana (Erik) Overberger, David (Cassi) Wallace, Sam Archer, Matt (Emily) Archer, Carly (John) Dages, Hilary (Nick) Petrello, Josh (Susan) Wallace, Jason (Natilie) Wallace, Justin (Audra) Wallace, Meagan (Alex) Mitchell, Riley Wallace, Avery Wallace, Ashleigh (Adrian) Jenkins, and Emaleigh Wallace, 12 great grandchildren, brothers/sisters-in-law, Robert Harrison and Bill Bailey, both of Florida, Pat Wallace of Bellefontaine, Betty Wallace and Sybil Wallace, both of Huntsville, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann spent most of her life farming with her husband, Robert. She also worked at Heartland of Indian Lake and Accusport. Mary Ann was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Church in Russells Point. She enjoyed gardening, loved animals, especially birds and dogs. Her greatest joy came from being at family events and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will begin a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at St. Mary of the Woods Church with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given in Mary Ann’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul.
