To celebrate the release of the upcoming new Wonka movie later this year, Marie’s Candies is hosting its own version of the Golden Ticket giveaway, which kicked off this week and continues for a total of five weeks.
Area residents are invited to enter the contest by visiting the store, 311 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, this summer, where they will see the new display, inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, coming to theaters Dec. 15.
“If you have seen the movie, or read the book, you know about the enchanted Golden Tickets,” Marie’s Candies President Rebecca Craig said. “In anticipation of the new Wonka movie, we’ve created our own Golden Ticket Giveaway.”
Participants can the contest enter once per day, during store hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, for a chance to win a Marie’s Candies’ Golden Ticket Basket. The giveaway is five weeks long, with a new selected winner each week, Craig said. The final week to enter the contest is Aug. 14.
One golden ticket entry form will be chosen by random draw on each of the following Mondays: July 24, July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, and Aug. 21. Winners will be contacted via e-mail and/or phone.
The basket has a retail value of over $65 and includes classic candies, along with Marie’s Candies fine chocolates.
“We have many other amazing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired items available for purchase, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory books with Marie’s chocolate bars, Wild & Wacky Pens, Furry Friend Samplers, and the famous Gobstoppers,” Craig said.
