Shawn E. Stiltner, 50, of 6490 County Road 112, Rushsylvania, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident at his residence Thursday, Aug. 17.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 4:10 a.m. to his residence on a report of an active domestic dispute. They were informed that Stiltner reportedly had assaulted his wife, and then their son intervened.
When deputies arrived, they said the son was holding Stiltner on the ground. The defendant was placed in handcuffs, deputies said.
Stiltner’s wife told deputies that the defendant had been consuming alcoholic beverages all night and that they began a verbal altercation.
He then reportedly forced his wife up against a wall in the living room and held her there and she shouted at him to keep his hands off of her.
Their son said he woke up to the shouting and he observed his father holding his mother against the living room wall. The son then intervened and held his father on the ground.
At one point, the defendant was able to break away from his son and reportedly made his way toward a gun cabinet, while also making verbal threats of harming his son. However, the son was able to gain control of his father on the ground once again before deputies arrived.
Deputies also observed a bite mark on the son from the altercation.
Stiltner was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Robert Page, 61, of Lakeview, was charged with criminal trespass by deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office around 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, after he was reportedly observed trying to enter a neighboring residence.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of County Road 87 and State Route 235 on a report that Page was attempting to enter a residence in that area. It was the fourth time such a complaint has been filed against Page since July 9, deputies report, and Page had just been released from jail Aug. 14.
Upon making contact with Page, he told deputies he was just trying to find someone to give him a ride. Page eventually admitted to ringing a door bell and knocking on a door in the 600 block of west Lake Drive.
Contact was made with Page’s mother who believes he may be developing dementia.
Page was lodged in the jail.
