Billy Cole, 46, of Bellefontaine, was arrested around 8:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 and charged with assault following an altercation involving an estranged girlfriend.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the female victim’s residence where she told police the couple had been together at his house, but an argument ensued when he went to take her home.
According to incident reports, the couple were arguing over the suspect’s alleged drug use. Cole reportedly became extremely angry and told her that if he didn’t exit his vehicle, he was going to hit her.
Officers observed the victim’s check and neck area to be extremely red and bruised.
Upon making contact with Cole, the suspect told police the victim was struck by an errant pool ball while the couple were playing billiards.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
