Bradley Clem, 37 of Lakeview, was charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct related to an incident Friday, Jan. 6.

About 2:40 p.m., officers of the Washington Township Police Department were contacted in reference to a male subject who was contacting Indian Lake Schools via telephone and cursing at several employees and advised them he was coming to the campus.

Officers soon learned that the male subject, Clem, was on campus speaking with administrators. Officers made contact with the defendant and attempted to speak with him. However, he reportedly entered his vehicle and drove to the Indian Lake Elementary School after being told not to leave.

Officers advised staff members not to let Clem into the school and again made contact with him at the front door.

As officers were speaking with the defendant, he reportedly yelled and cursed loudly after repeated warnings not to. Staff members, students and parents were present during Clem’s obscene behavior, officers noted.

Clem was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Suspect apprehended after short foot pursuit

James Saunders, 26, of Saint Paris, was charged with failure to comply with the order a police officer and resisting arrest relating to a traffic stop Friday evening.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol on State Route 235 near Township Road 215 and conducted a traffic stop about 5 p.m. on a vehicle for several equipment and lane violations.

Officers learned that the front seat passenger, Saunders, had an active warrant for his arrest with a caution for violent tendencies.

Upon notifying James of the active warrant, the defendant reportedly opened the door of the vehicle and ran on foot from the scene. Officers were able to take him into custody after a short foot pursuit. Saunders stated he ran because he knew he was going to jail for a long time.

The defendant was transported to the jail. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Russells Point Police Department assisted at the scene.
