Man arrested for possession of a schedule I drug

David L. Gambrel, 27, of 212 Pearce Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with possession of a schedule I drug relating to an incident Monday, April 10.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 11:20 p.m. to the area of County Road 18 and Township Road 200 in reference to gunshots heard in the area.

Deputies patrolled in the bike path area and observed two men walking in the area, and one of the men, Gambrel, was found to have an active warrant out of Allen County.

He was placed under arrest and was asked if he had anything illegal on his person. The defendant handed deputies a vape pen and a baggie with what he was was a mushroom. Because of the hallucinogenic mushroom, deputies said the local charge would also be filed. He was transported to the Logan County Jail without incident.

Driver cited in U.S. 68 crash

Cammi J. McClurg, 27, of Findlay, was cited for left of center/improper passing relating to a non-injury crash about 8:50 p.m. Saturday, April 8.

Deputies report she was operating a northbound 2011 Honda CR-V on U.S. Route 68 and conducted an improper pass of a northbound vehicle that was stopped at U.S. 68 and County Road 37.

While her northbound vehicle was in the southbound lane, it struck a 2013 Honda Civic making a southbound turn onto U.S. 68 from C.R. 37. The Civic was operated by Bradley A. Cooley, 16, of Bellefontaine.

Damage was heavy to the CR-V and the Civic, both of which were towed from the scene.

Theft of snowmobile, trailer reported

Deputies responded Friday, April 7, to a report of a snowmobile and trailer from 6141 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.

Jake Lawrence reported to deputies that he believed the trailer with the Skidoo Renegade snowmobile inside was taken from the property sometime between the evening of April 4 and morning of April 5, after he reviewed video surveillance.
