A Lakeview man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his mother Tuesday evening, June 10 at their Holly Drive, Lakeview, residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene about 6:30 p.m. and found the victim, who had bruising under both eyes and was bleeding from the bridge of her nose.
The suspect, Heath Deel, 37, was found lying on a bedroom floor watching a video on his phone. Deputies noted Deel had difficulty standing and they detected an odor of alcohol from him.
Deel said his mother consumed a large amount of alcohol and had fallen through the bedroom door.
Initially reluctant to say her son caused her injuries, the mother eventually admitted that Deel headbutted her.
The suspect was arrested for domestic violence and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies obtained evidence from the suspect’s phone showing his mother lying on the floor with visible bleeding.
