Thanks to a generous bequest from Steve Busic, the Macochee Joint Ambulance
District was recently able to purchase a new vehicle at a cost of $235,000. Though
Busic passed away in 2017, they didn’t decide to buy the ambulance until 2020. “And,
of course, that’s when covid hit,” Chief Chris Jones said. “A lot of factories weren’t mak-
ing anything, so it took four years to get it.” After a month to prepare the ambulance, it is
now alternating in service to the community with the district’s other vehicle. Pictured,
