Logan County Health District and Mary Rutan Hospital partner to host lung cancer screening from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the health district, 310 S. Main St.
Eligibility requirements are: 50-80 years old; current smoker with history of smoking one pack per day for 20 years, or ex-smoker who has quit within the past 20 years.
“Annual lung cancer screening is necessary to detect malignancies caused by cigarette smoking, tobacco products and exposure to substances like radon and family history,” health officials said.
“People of ages 50-80, with a 20-pack year or more smoking history, current smokers, or who have quit smoking for 15 years should undergo the test.”
The screening includes a questionnaire and a referral to a low-dose CT scan if needed.
Those who want to enroll in the free Ohio Tobacco Quitline can participate and receive free nicotine replacement therapy if eligible.
