Loretta B. Linger, 73, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday evening, October 17, 2023, at her home.

Loretta was born on June 27, 1950, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to the late Cloye Albert and Marie (Smith) Estes. She married Paul Howard Linger on March 9, 1968, in Springfield, and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2017, and they are now reunited in God’s Kingdom.

Loretta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jenny Linger of Huntsville; 2 grandchildren: Ashley Linger of Huber Heights, and Jacob Linger of Huntsville; 2 step-grandchildren: Cody Bell of Bellefontaine, and Megan (Jordan) Boyer of DeGraff; four great-grandchildren: Grayson and Everett Boyer of DeGraff, and Nova and Juniper Bell of Bellefontaine; siblings: Cathy (Ronald) Mershon, Joyce (Glenn) Shope, Randy (Linda) Estes, and Betty (the late Frank) Gillman, all of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Loretta was a retired bus driver and had driven for the Springfield and Indian Lake School systems. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, and playing Bingo.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where Pastor Rick Clos will officiate Loretta’s funeral at 3 p.m. A private family burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
